Snowledge Founder Heads to Revelstoke to Compete in FWQ 4* International Freeskier Association Event
Snowledge app founder Eric Lee O’Brien heads north this week to British Columbia, Canada, to compete in the four star Revelstoke Mountain Resort Freeride Open event, which is a gateway to the Freeride World Tour. The event is an International Freeskiers Association (IFSA) and a 4* FWQ (Freeride World Qualifier) event, from January 10-13, 2017, at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. The competition areas at Revelstoke will be selected from the Separate Reality and North Bowl venues, with room for spectators to watch the action.

This is the second time Eric has competed at Revelstoke in this event. Since 2012, he has competed in freeride competitions, making 2017 his fifth consecutive competitive season. The freeride competition takes place over two days. The athletes will receive a welcome reception at the Revelation Lodge Tuesday evening, with the competition ensuing on Wednesday. Both skiing and snowboarding disciplines are included in this competition.
- Day 1 of competition or the qualifier round is on Wednesday, January 11th in Separate Reality.
- Day 2 of competition, final round, is on Thursday, January 12th in North Bowl.
- Friday the 13th will be set aside as a weather day if required.
Pending weather changes, an award ceremony is slated to be held after Thursday’s round of competition in the Rockford plaza. An official after-party will be hosted by The Cabin. This event will host some of North America’s best freeride skiers and snowboarders as they compete for their spot in skiing’s biggest freeride event, the Freeride World Tour!
